De Gruyter publishes first-class scholarship and has done so for more than 270 years. We are an international, independent publisher University Press Library. In the five years before it became the University Press Library, our investigative efforts was simply known amongst our participants as the ‘Pilot.’ What was Amsterdam University Press De Gruyter entered into a commercial partnership with Amsterdam University Press in 2018 by distributing the press’s English language eBooks to a global audience.
With De Gruyter/University Press Library you can access a host of new titles from Columbia University, de Gruyter, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Toronto, plus an extensive selection from Harvard University Press. De Gruyter distributes over 7,000 titles including front list, backlist, and archive collections of Princeton University Press in key subject areas: Mathematics, American History, World History, and Art & Architecture among many others. Since 2012, Harvard University Press and De Gruyter have partnered together to better serve our mutual clients. As part of this, virtually all formerly out-of-print titles from Harvard University Press have been brought back to life via De Gruyter’s digitalization service. DG’s University Press Library (UPL) is unique as it provides complete front list collections of 14 prestigious University Presses. UPL collections are available by press as a one-time purchase with no ongoing access fees and no DRM. All titles in each UPL collection provide users with multi-use/unlimited usage rights. The University Press Library is just one example of our many innovative programs striving to bring more content and bigger ideas to the world stage.
